Nintendo Wii Release
Chilly temperatures and days of waiting in line didn’t stop some anxious video gamers. As the clock struck midnight Sunday morning, the Nintendo Wii went on sale at the Big Flats Wal-Mart.
Phillip Downie was the fourth person in line to get the Wii."I just kept saying this better be worth every minute and second I'm standing here. When I got home, I was like wow. I could have waited longer and it would still have been worth it,” said Downie.
The release of Nintendo Wii comes just days after Sony’s PlayStation 3. Nintendo hopes its unique motion sensitive controllers and online capabilities will lure shoppers away from the competition.
